Playing with Watercolor

Last Sunday I visited the Georgia O’Keeffe Exhibit at Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas.  It was lovely and oh so inspiring.  Georgia made me want to paint flowers and that’s just what I’ve done.  I’ve painted 6 watercolors over the past 12 days and it feels so good.  As I paint I tell myself repeatedly that it really doesn’t matter how it looks, it’s the process, not the product.  Each painting has taken 30 to 45 minutes and it’s always a pleasant surprise no matter how it turns out.  Here is the progression:

Watercolor #1
#2
#3
#4
#5

After such a wonderful week of painting I decided to share the process with students in our Green Team at the Phelps Center.

All 6.

I think they would look nice matted in this arrangement. But mostly I love the peace I feel when painting.  Thanks Georgia!
