Screenprinting in Stillwater, Oklahoma

The Printmaking Studio at Prairie Arts Center

February, 2020 brought great adventure. It was the first time I traveled for an art class, and oh my goodness, I’m hooked. I travelled to Stillwater, Oklahoma for a two day screenprinting workshop at Prairie Arts Center. It was so liberating and educational. I traveled alone on a cold Friday after work and took an inspirational driving break at the Philbrook Art Museum in Tulsa. I booked two nights at a Hampton Inn in Stillwater and was completely stoked for this independent art adventure.

The screenprinting class was pretty intense, yet casual. We made our own custom screens on day 1 and printed on day 2. It was amazing to spend the days with with artists chatting and learning from one another. In the evening I walked around the downtown, ate some delicious Stillwater faire, and thought about art. I learned so much about art and independence, but mostly I learned that art is worth travelling for.

The art we made in class.
Me being super stoked.
